How to Easily Find the Serial Number of your Computer?

          You’ve got a problem with your computer, you call their technical support team and the person on the other side requires the machine’s serial number (also known as the Service Tag) before he can even log your request.
          If you using a laptop computer, you can easily find the service tag by turning the machine upside but for desktops, especially the older models, the sticker that holds
the service tag is often placed at a more harder-to-reach location.
           There’s a alternate way to find the computer’s serial number without you having to slide beneath the table.
Open the command prompt (Start – > CMD) and type the following command:

wmic bios get serialnumber

Another command that will also print the model number (or make) of your computer is:

wmic csproduct get name, identifyingnumber 

The system model number can also be found using the System Information program available under All Programs – > Accessories – > System Tools.
The above commands should work on Windows 7, XP and Windows XP Pro machine as wmic.exe didn’t ship with the previous editions of Windows. Refer to this page to learn about all other system details that you can retrieve with the help of wmic.exe command.

Was checking a barcode reader and found that app that i was testing can read QR codes so this was it.

    " Until now Malayalam community were using a customised free version of old Keyman to type anywhere in a Windows system. Me too was using it in all places except Malayalam Wikimedia projects, on Malayalam Wikimedia projects I use our Narayam which is a built in Malayalam typing solution integrated to Wikis. People were always complaining about Keyman that is does not work on Windows Vista and 7 systems. And even I had started to develop a solution to replace Keyman based solution, I stopped further developments soon after I fully changed my platform to Ubuntu.
          We had tried several other solutions to replace Keyman, but none of them were able to replace Keyman, since Keyman solution provided smooth typing experience. Few days before Shiju shown me that there exist a solution named KeyMagic which may help us to solve the problem. Shiju proposed it to me to and requested to write Malayalam schemes for it. Writing schemes for this tool was not difficult. I implemented two schemes Mozhi and InScript, Mozhi is phonetic scheme and InScript is a fixed layout and a national standard. We tested the software with these to typing schemes and most users found it as a replacement for Keyman.

Step 3: On the App History screen, click on the Network column to sort the applications based on the usage of Network or Internet.

Once you click on this column, it will display the network usage by each application which you have used or installed on your Windows 8 PC, tablet or laptop device.
Similarly, you can check the CPU time, Metered Network and tile updates. Also if you want to reset these statistics to monitor the usage from scratch, there is a link called “Delete usage history” on the App history screen which will delete the old records so that you can monitor the changes again starting from the reset time.

USB pen drive detected but doesn’t show up in My Computer

Trouble:

    You may have faced a problem when you insert your pen drive and it gets detected very easily but it doesn’t show up as a drive icon in My Computer. The computer detects the pen drive but data on pen drive is not visible as the pen drive is not visible in My Computer (Explorer).
This problem occurs mainly when windows XP fails to allocate a drive letter to your portable drive(pen drive). It occurs mostly with new pen drives connected to your computer for the first time. If you face such problem then it may not be the pen drive’s fault, rather it may be windows trouble.

Fix:

   You can fix this issue by following some simple steps given below.


1. Click Start, click Run, type compmgmt.msc, and then click OK.
2. In the console tree, click Disk Management. The Disk Management window will appear.
3. On this disk management window, you can see some drives including the portable drive. Right click on your portable drive and click change drive letter and paths.
4. Now a assign a new drive letter which is not being used by any of your drives in My Computer.
5. After assigning the new drive letter your portable drive will show up in my computer with other drives.

Requirements: You need to enable the CD-R feature on Windows XP. If you haven't done so, see this article.

1. Insert a Formated-ReWritable CD or a Recordable (CD-R) disc into the CD drive.

3. Navigate to the files/folders you want to copy to CD. Select them and press "Ctrl-c" to copy.
4. Browse back to the CD-ROM, and press "Ctrl-V" to paste. The files/folders will show up as temporary files/folders at this time.

6. The window "CD Writing Wizard" appears with the default CD name. Change the CD name if you wish, then click "Next".

Just follow these steps below:

1. Select file, press F2.
2. Hold alt key and type 0160 from the numpad.
3. Release the alt key. Now without doing anything else, again hold alt key and press 0160.
4. Press enter and you will have second nameless file in the same directory.
5. Repeat step 3 to create as many nameless files or folders in the same directory.

Create Folders Without Any Name or Words

This trick will allow you to create files and folders without any name.

Just follow the following steps:


1. Select any file or folder.
2. Right click on it, press rename or simply press F2.
3. Press and hold the alt key. While holding the Alt key, type numbers 0160 from the numpad.
4. Press Enter and the nameless file or folder will be created.

Note: Type the numbers 0160 from the numpad, that is, the numbers present on the right side of the keyboard. Don't type the numbers which are present on top of the character keys

Now after you click ok, it will show an error message that you have registered IDM using fake serial key and IDM will exit.

Now Go to START --}} Then go to RUN  and type the following text and click enter:

For Windows 7 users, due to security reasons you will not be able to save hosts file.
The trick is below: 
First of all go to C:/ drive then go to Windows Folder and then go to System32 folder and then go to Drivers folder and then go to Etc Folder, in the Etc folder you will see the hosts file.

Now right click on hosts file and go to its properties, then go to security tab and then select your admin account, just below u will see an edit button (in front of change permissions), Now give the user full control and write and read rights and then click on apply and then click on Ok, now u will be able to edit the hosts file and save changes in it.

STEP 6:- 

Now a notepad file appears something like this as shown below:

Now copy the below lines of code and add to hosts file as shown above:

If you want to update IDM then You have to Open Notepad file from STEP 5 process and delete the code that you have pasted and then Update and repeat the all process again then your IDM will be full version again after update.

Forwarding All Emails Automatically in gmail

• Click on Settings link
• Click on Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab
• Click on the radio button “Forward a copy of incoming mail to”, and then give an email id in the text box.

How to Paste Text on a Samsung Galaxy S3

In a recent guide I showed you how to "copy on a Samsung Galaxy S3" it now makes sense to show you how to use the copied text to paste it in an e-mail, a text or even a forum post.

The first part is to go to the place where you want to past it. For this example I've decided to use an E-mail though you can genuinely use it pretty much that everywhere where you can find an input screen (the white screen you type into).

After finding where you want to post it you hold your finger in to the input
area (as you can see in the screenshot on the right). After holding your finger there for a second or two you will be given two options you can either "Paste" or "Clipboard". If you click "Paste" it will paste the last thing you selected to copy, if however you selected Clipboard you will be shown number of options from which to select.

As you can see in the image to the left you can select any of the items from the clipboard, this allows you, for example, to copy and paste several different things easily and when you want.

This guide hopes to show you have to move icons as further customise how your phone looks. Whilst this guide was done with screenshots from a Samsung Galaxy S3, the same method applies

with pretty much every phone running Android.

Firstly you need to open up your home screens and find an icon you want to move. For this example I will be selecting the icon for "Ebuddy XMS", which is sat on the bottom left corner of the 3rd home screen (See top left). To select the icon you need to hold your finger on the icon for a few seconds and this will then allow you to drag the icon around the screen.

You can not only drag the icon around the same screen as it started on (see the picture on the right) but also place it on other screens by dragging the icon to edge of one of the screens. This allows you to drag the icon to any of the phone's home screens as you perhaps choose to put your most regularly used icons to the first screen whilst your lesser used icons can be put to the most distant homes screens.
