It is also one of the National Examination Body, which accredits institutes/organizations for conducting courses in IT in the non-formal sector.

- Candidates should complete Bachelor Degree in Engineering OR Bachelor in Technology OR Department of Electronics and Accreditation of Computer Courses B-level OR Associate Member of Institute of Engineers OR Graduate Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers OR Master Degree in Science (M.Sc) OR Master Degree in Computer Application OR Master Degree in Engineering /Technology (ME /M.Tech) OR Master Degree in Philosophy (M .Phil) in the following fields

Selection Process:- For Scientist ‘B’ Post – Selection will be done through a written examination and interview
- For Scientific/ Technical Asst-‘A’ Post – Selection will be done through written examination
Scheme of written examination:
- The written exam will be conducted in English medium only
- There will be a total of 120 objective type Questions
- Duration of written examination will be of 3 hours
- Every question will carry 1 mark
- There will be negative marking of 0.25 mark for each wrong answer.
The question paper for the written examination will consist of
- There shall be a total of 120 objective type Questions consisting of 78 questions from Technical Area (Computer Science)
- 42 question on Generic area. The Generic Area will comprise of Logical Reasoning, Analytical Reasoning Capabilities, Quantitative and Qualitative abilities and General Aptitude.
- 65% questions from Technical Area
- 35% from Generic Area.
Minimum percentage to qualify the written examination:
- 50% for General/EWS
- 40% for OBC, 30% for the SC/ST/PWD categories
